  • Approx. 2 - 3 days per week

Our client, a well-known national retailer who is an established market leader enjoying continued growth and success, is seeking a highly motivated and energetic Curtains/Blinds Installer with exceptional attention to detail to join their team. The Fitter will make himself available at agreed times to collect from nominated Company or contracted workroom premises, to deliver to and to install at the appointed times within the premises nominated by the Company’s clients, all such custom made curtains & blinds, shutters and associated items pertaining to each client’s purchase from the Company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Any issues occurring on site to be resolved with relevant store/consultant or installation office
  • Use of tools to perform duties - i.e.  drill, hammerdrill, angle grinder, hacksaw, hilti gun, in order to install products to the company standards and Industry requirements
  • Installations to comply with state laws (i.e. child safety legislation)
  • Installation to occur in a clean and tidy manner
  • Use of other equipment, i.e. step ladders, A-Frame Ladders, Extension Ladders, Scaffolding or other equipment required to safely install the order
  • Install goods as requested by the consultant, unless physically or potentially not possible
  • At completion of order, collect outstanding monies (cash, cheque, or credit) and complete necessary paperwork and then deliver to installation office / store within 72 hours
  • Any products returned to the store or Installation Office to be returned packaged, in good clean condition and clearly labelled
  • Aim to install all goods on the day of installation. Use own  judgement and do what is required to install the goods to standard. This may mean altering products to fit, changing cord sides, etc. 
  • Where goods are faulty, manufactured or measured to the incorrect size, provide information to store / installation office to have the products rectified. Double check product and window measurements to enable correct procedures to be facilitated with the re-make or alteration of the product/s.

Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of Retail environment
  • Good understanding of customer service expectations
  • Able to work unsupervised
  • Proven ‘handyman’ skills suited to Home Installation
  • Ability to use a drill and hammerdrill
  • Experience with fitting into all fitting surfaces -  timber, brick/concrete, plaster, aluminum, tiles, steel/metal
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong customer and team focus
  • Good problem solving skills
  • Well spoken and able to communicate effectively
  • Well-presented  (company will provide tops)
  • Flexibility (to be available every 2nd Saturday)
  • Experience in Soft Furnishings industry preferred or willingness to learn
  • Ability to understand order/quotation supplied by consultants
  • Ability to install ALL window furnishings (Indoor and Outdoor products)
