This publicly listed company is one of Australia's largest retail and wholesalers and are still growing strong. They have an opportunity in their buying department for an experienced ladieswear buyer to join their business and progress within the company. Some of the key responsibilities are- - OTB management
- Delivery of budgeted stock turn & margin expectations
- Analysis of consumer buying patterns with a view of predicting future trends
- Quick turnaround from decision to buy to delivery of product to selling floor
- Giving to and receiving feedback from stores
- Training and mentoring junior staff
- Setting gross profit % targets for seasonal buy strategy
- Sourcing new & reviewing existing supply base to provide competitive & compelling stock offers in retail stores.
- Responsible for preparation of weekly reports for stores
- Responsible for communication of markdowns to stores
- Actively support and liaise with all other buying team members to achieve company objectives
- Visit company sores regularly to best understand the impact of product purchasing and allocating decisions
Key qualifications for the role- - Proven experience in ladieswear buying
- Sound numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in an often pressured environment
- The ability to take on real responsibility and work autonomously
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Proven experience working with an OTB
