Reporting to the Chief Geologist, you will work within a dynamic team to maximise the profitable extraction of company resources in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
As the successful candidate, you will have plenty of opportunity to utilise your leadership, communication and organisational skills as you interact with personnel from many departments within this organisation, and their mining alliance partners.
You will develop your technical knowledge while mining a range of different ore deposit styles, maintaining a strong focus on ore quality. Your analytical and problem solving skills will help you as you take on more responsibility for the planning, haulage and blending of our ore to strict customer specifications, using industry leading stockpiling and blending practices.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide leadership and mentoring to promote teamwork, communication and cooperation within the geology department * Input into all aspects of scheduling, mining and grade control * Control and reporting of product to provide consistent and quality product with a customer focus * Provide accurate and timely project work focusing on technical aspects of operations * Promote both personal and company continual improvement to improve productivity and efficiencies * Perform QAQC analysis and reconciliations as part of end of month reporting
The successful candidate will possess the following:
* Strong leadership skills to effectively mentor and supervise your direct reports * Tertiary qualification in Geology, and a strong desire to build on your existing geological knowledge * Strong computer skills including MS Office, Surpac or other mining software * Ability to be use initiative and be pro-active to development and continuous improvement * Accuracy and attention to detail * A strong safety ethic
