Our client is one of Australia's leading Engineering Consultancies who specialise in providing Engineering and Project Management solutions to the Oil & Gas, Mining and Minerals industries in Australia. Due to a major increase in Project work they have an immediate requirement for a Senior Estimator to join on an initial 3 - 6 month contract based in their Melbourne offices.

The role will involve the preparation of estimates relating to the execution of projects. These estimates can be for the provision of engineering and management services or for the capital cost of a complete project or part of a project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare Estimate Plan that describes the approach to estimating, the schedule for the preparation of the estimate, the resources required and the methodology to be followed.
• Implement estimating software systems appropriate to the estimating task.
• Monitor timelines and quality of engineering input, coordinating with procurement on required bid data and seeking cost input.
• Provide routine checking of estimate and reports to ensure they are fit for purpose and meet minimum requirements.
• Participate in and lead where appropriate, estimate reviews with engineering, management and client.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other estimators.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications are a major advantage.
• Good knowledge of relevant estimating software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
