GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER Our Client is a strong force in the Australian iron ore industry. Established in Perth in 1996 and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) in 2002, the Company owns and operates the Koolan Iron, Tallering Peak, and Extension Hill mines. This is an opportunity for a hardworking and motivated individual to join the team at Koolan Island. Reporting to the Mine Manager, through the application of rock mechanics principles to mine design, you will be responsible for optimising open pit, waste dump and mine infrastructure. Tasks include:- • Pit Wall mapping, documentation, assessments and investigations • Reporting of Geotechnical hazards within the pits and dumps • Developing and adhering to geotechnical procedures for the site • Support senior and other engineering staff • Assess and monitor all wall control blasting implementations • Compile daily, weekly and monthly geotechnical reporting The successful candidate will have:- Tertiary qualifications in geotechnical engineering 3+ years’ experience in mining operations Excellent computer and communication skills In return our Client will offer: Rewarding career with competitive salary plus ongoing training and development 12/9 FIFO roster (days) from Perth, Broome or Derby Opportunity to work with an experienced team who will support your journey Ensuited room with TV, Foxtel, king size single bed, air conditioner and bar fridge.
