With an ever growing presence in Australia, this globally renowned multidiscipline contractor has an array of award winning projects under their belt.  They are seeking to appoint a Brisbane based Project Procurement Officer (min 1 yrs exp in Mining  /Construction industry) to support the delivery of a major Oil & Gas project, located in Central Queensland.
    

Reporting to the Project Procurement Manager, the Procurement Officer is responsible for implementing the Project Procurement Plan ensuring compliance with cost, quality and delivery requirements.  

 

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Supporting the development and implementation of the project procurement  plan 
  • Investigating supply sources, obtaining quotes and making recommendations as required  
  • Visit and inspect supplier premises & operations, and providing reports for procurement purposes
  • Undertake contract negotiations as appropriate, under the guidance of the     Procurement Manager.
  • Determine vendors/materials according to price, quality, availability,       specifications and performance. 
  • Provide up to date information regarding materials and systems selection. 
  • Lead coach and mentor procurement staff & all relevant stakeholders re procurement procedures and effective subcontractor management. 
  • Reporting , monitoring  & managing governance of the Head Contract 
  • Relationship & stakeholder management, ensuring consultation with internal customers to ascertain procurement requirements for the business and specific projects, building strategic working relations
  • Total Quality Management  (supporting zero harm culture).

What you will bring to this role

  • A min 1 years' experience in end to end Procurement in the construction/ mining industry or similar, including managing progress claims & identifying preferred suppliers 
  • Must have had some exposure to Fly in Fly out with demountable accommodation
  • Experience developing procurement plans
  • Specific procurement experience within the construction industry
  • Commitment to health and safety and willingness to comply with all OHS policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to comply with TQM policy procedures & systems.
  • A high quality orientation with a high attention to detail  
  • Advanced prioritising and organizational skills Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills, with an ability to identify issues, problems and opportunities
  • A high degree of adaptability & team orientation
  • Sound stakeholder engagement skills
