You will be part of an expanding team in the Government Law Section for a small government agency located in the City. The Government Law Section provides legal advice in courts and tribunals, deals with matters across Industrial Relations and Employment Law, Constitutional and Administrative law. You will be part of a small team and mentored by Principal Lawyers and required to undertake the following tasks: - Review file and prepare documentation for court
- Act within client instructions and model litigant policy
- Conduct background research
- Ensure court proceedings protocols are adhered to in accordance with jurisdiction involved
- Outcomes of legal proceedings are noted, filed and any required action implemented
- Research, analyse and prepare legal advice
- Terms of engagement are clarified with client
- Relevant legislation and cases are identified and relevant legal requirements are clearly outlined to the client
To be considered for this position you must: - hold Australian Citizenship
- have relevant experience up to 2 years PAE or exposure to area of law
- work effectively across a small team
