Our Government client, based in Melbourne head office is seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer for Windows to provide support to the Corporate Systems and Services area where they are responsible for the planning, development, installation and support of the company???s windows systems and related applications.
This position will be required to work in a team based environment and will take a significant leading role as part of a team in determining the technical direction of the company's managed desktop (MDT) Windows based systems.
This will involve taking a high level of responsibility for the investigation, development, configuration, installation and support of Windows corporate environment.
Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Team Leader you are required to perform and responsible for the following;
Essential Criteria:
??? Equivalent combination of IT qualification and experience as a System Engineer for the Windows environment at an MCSE level.
??? Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation and support of Windows Server 2003/2008 (and above) coupled with very good understanding of desktop operating environment such as XP/Windows7.
??? Extensive experience in managing Active Directory, Group policy, SQL and MS System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007 or equivalent.
??? Demonstrated ability to investigate problems, research new technologies and provide sound technical advice to both technical and non-technical specialists.
??? Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment as a team member and as a leader. Ability to work with other technical teams including contractors.
??? Proven experience in managing projects and ability to apply various project management approaches in the delivery of outcomes.
??? High level communication skills, able to engage with various stakeholders through presentations and be able to produce quality documentation to support users of corporate and operational software and systems.
Desirable criteria:
??? Knowledge and experience in MS-Exchange, SharePoint and VMWare ESX would be an advantage.
??? Good understanding of ITIL framework concepts and or equivalent service management processes.
This available Senior System Engineer for Windows position is required to start immediately, a contract between 3-6 months, to work the standard hours of 38 hours per week and still have the flexible work life and balance.
Salary is between $60 -$75 per hour (depending on experience).
