The Location

The Health Service
Northern territory Health is seeking a full time palliative care physician to join our current Physician in providing an integrated service in our expanding organisation. The clinical duties for this position will include providing specialist palliative medical support and clinical leadership to the Palliative Care Consultancy Team, hospital consultancy, community based palliative care assessments and expert advice to GPs.
  
The Role
I believe that this is a great opportunity to join an exciting multi-disciplinary program that aims to provide consistent access to specialist palliative care services and facilitate continuity of care for patients, carers and families across the Top End. Opportunities for innovation in service development will be encouraged.  This position requires travel around the region and requires the successful applicant to participate in the after hours and on-call roster. Your Skills
  • Have demonstrated clinical competence in the management of patients requiring palliative care
  • Have knowledge and expertise in the assessment, treatment and support of patients and their families in a community environment
  • Show demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research in palliative care.
  • Have great interpersonal skills and thrive when leading a team of professionals
  • Have FRACP obtained under the supervision of the SACPM (Specialist advisory Committee in Palliative Medicine) or PMEC (Palliative Medicine Education Committee) of the RACP, or FAChPM (RACP) or recognised equivalent.
  • Can drive a car for community care purpose
