Procurement Officer
Canberra

DFP Recruitment currently have a temporary role available working for a Government Department as a procurement officer. This role provides corporate support to all operations for strategic and general procurement activities.

The successful candidate will have experience in procurement in the Government Sector. It is desirable that you will have a recognised formal procurement accreditation or willingness to achieve same

Main duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Conducting general and delegated strategic procurement and contract negotiation, maximising the benefits available from negotiated supplier arrangements.
  • Collecting and analysing data relating to procurement activities and assisting with the development and review of policies, procedures and systems for the department procurement, contract and asset management activities.
  • Assisting in preparation of tender documents, selection criteria and tender evaluation in accordance with department???s policies, procurement guidelines and recognised best practice.
  • Maintaining department???s contract database and managing delegated strategic procurement contract relationships and performance outcomes.
  • Providing advice and training to staff in procurement best practice
