The Salvation Army, an international movement and an evangelical branch of the universal Christian Church has a wonderful opportunity available for a person with an interest in helping people in their community to join their Community Services Centre.

The Wagga Wagga Corps of The Salvation Army is seeking a community minded individual with excellent organisational and people skills to coordinate welfare assistance to clients of the Community Services Centre.  We are seeking a motivated individual with a flexible, positive attitude and qualifications or experience in welfare or community services.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • An understanding of and empathy with the Christian faith, values and ethos of The Salvation Army and the ability to provide assistance and service with Christian commitment and empathy.
  • Experience in welfare/community services environment.
  • Hold or be working toward a Certificate IV in Welfare (or similar qualification).
  • Demonstrated ability to empathise with clients of the Community Services Centre.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated good verbal communication & networking skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Effective listening skills.

This position will initially be offered on a casual basis working an average of 15 hours per week, with the potential for a permanent part time position to be offered in future.
