This role reports directly to the Youth Support Coordinator

The role has a requirement to support and supervise students and volunteer workers within the program

The role utilises strength based principles to assist young people identify, develop and maintain personal, vocational and life skills.

Challenges in the role include assisting young people with complex issues to maximise their potential and achieve succesful and durable vocational and personal outcomes

The youth worker is required to maintain and where necessary develop and impliment appropriate recording, reporting and outcomes documentation required by both employer and external funding agencies (including government bodies)

The youth worker will be required to maintain and develop effective working relationships and networking opportunities with a variety of internal and external stakeholders with links to youth, homelesness, education and employment

The youth worker will display strong empathy for the specific needs of the core client service group whilst at the same time being able to identify specific areas of opportunity for service provision growth, enhancement and quality improvement.
