The Client 
 
 
Based just outside the city and boasting under croft parking and refurbished internal office premises, this large highly respected organisation is heavily supported and engaged by the Health and Education Department for provide essential services to the communication in terms of Education, training and practitioner knowledge. 
 
Stable, well respected and known well for their work, the business encompassed a broad range of processionals from the Education and Health field, combined to deliver large scale Training Projects in the community. 
 
 
The Role 
 
Using MYOB and reporting the Finance Manager, an urgent need has arisen to replace the candidate who has loved, excelled in and now outgrown the role of Management and Financial Accountant. 
 
The successful candidate, alike the current candidate, will enter into the business and take on a diverse range of duties which will strengthen and broaden an accountants knowledge ten fold! 
 
This hands-on and broad role has no direct reports but works closely with all staff within head office and nationally, as well as close knit relationship with the accounts department. 
 
The role is typically split up in the following duties: 
 
  • Purchase order Management 5%  
  • Budget Preparation with Project Team 5%  
  • Budget Monitoring 5%  
  • Monthly Reporting 30%  
  • Forecasting and Project Cost Analysis 5%  
  • Contract Management 10%  
  • MYOB System Management 2%  
  • Journal & Budget Troubleshooting 5%  
  • Acquittals 7%  
  • General Queries and Improvements 16%  
   
The successful candidate will have:  
 
  • Degree or relevant qualifications in accounting  
  • Exposure to advanced user in MYOB  
  • Advanced Excel (tests will be given to candidates)  
  • Working towards CA/CPA (internal mentor cannot be provided, as no longer a member)  
  • Initiative and Innovation - this role requires a "solution thinker" as it is working with changing projects and demands  
  • Ability to start immediately with a long term career view and commitment to the employer  
   
Candidates with Not For Profit, Funding or Government exposure will transfer well based on the content of the role and the basis of the accounting structure.  
 
 
Hours / Environment  
 
The hours are fantastic! 
 
Core business hours are 0830-1630 however it is expected that come end-of-month overtime may be required to execute the requirements of the role.
